Improving accessibility at St Lukes
Update: Target Reached!
Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this incredible fundraising target to help the entire community access the Church and Church Hall.
The Accessibility project
St Luke’s Church Hall is used on Sundays for our young people’s groups, and meeting together for coffee after services. But it is not just a facility for the church – throughout the whole week different groups from the community use the hall for their activities – ballet, young people’s unformed groups, Slimming World and Weightwatchers, adults and toddlers, children’s parties, baptism and wedding parties and of course St Luke’s Nursery which meets every day in the hall.
It is vital we now improve our accessibility to give welcome and access for all.
In the summer holidays of 2018 we plan to make extensive renovations to our toilet facilities to provide a fully equipped wheelchair accessible toilet and we will be creating a ramp up to the hall. The doorway will be changed to create better access and the new toilet facilities will be able to be accessed from both the hall and from the outside making them accessible when necessary without disturbing hall users.
If you want to see the full plans they are available on the display at the back of the church.
How can you support it too?
